Summer 2024

Join Stars and Stripes!

Stars and Stripes Beach Volleyball has built a strong culture by focusing on the development of each athlete to push them to reach their potential.

We are a fast paced, high performance program that focuses on having fun while learning and growing as a team.

We have some of the best coaches around who challenge the girls to get better each of every practice.

We teach that our results are built at practice by what we do every day and our girls love to compete in all aspects of the game.

Overall, our focus is the development of the whole person through the love of the sport of beach volleyball.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is SAS Summer different than the Year Round team?
Our year round programming is much more comprehensive! The season runs November-August and includes a lot more than just practice. Year Round SAS athletes receive coaching at select tournaments, recruiting support, a profile on Sports Recruits, SAS gear & more!

Who can try out for SAS Summer?
SAS is open to evaluating elite female athletes ages 10-18 for the summer program. Athletes should have indoor or beach volleyball experience and be performing at a high level for their age group.

What happens if I miss practice?
SAS is different from the indoor model. We focus on individual training, so the only athlete that is affected if you do not come is YOU. There will be no discounts, fee reductions or refunds for missed practices.

Do I have to play in the tournaments?
Tournaments are optional, but recommended. Travel/entry fees are not included in the SAS fee. Here is a link to local women's and juniors tournaments. No tournament coaching is included with the SAS Summer fees.

What if I don't have a partner?
SAS practices are designed for individual training, so you do not need to tryout or join with a partner in mind.

Is it too late for me to switch to beach volleyball?
No! Let's have a conversation about your goals if you are new to the game!

What if I don't make the team?
Athletes who need more experience are welcome to join the Beach Club practices at one of the many locations in NJ and PA!

What should I wear to practice?
SAS athletes are required to wear a tee/tank and shorts/spandex/leggings at practice. No swim suits or sports bras.

What are we looking for in an athlete?
Coaches will evaluate players based on their volleyball fundamentals and overall athleticism, but that is not the whole picture. Coaches will also pay attention to:

  • Attitude
  • Behavior
  • Coachability
  • Competitiveness
  • Communication Skills
  • Parent Interactions
  • Responsibility
  • Sportsmanship
  • Team Player

How many players do you take for each age group?
We are not looking for a specific number of players. We set a baseline for expectations for each group and we will make offers to any player that is at or above that baseline.
